At a ceremony declaring March 19, 2011 Master Gardener Day, GMGA presents Gov. Deal with a check representing the value to all Georgians of Master Gardener volunteer efforts in 2010.
EVENTS
Georgia’s Master Gardeners sponsor many events throughout the year – plant sales, demonstrations, garden tours and lectures - to name but a few.
Most of them are open to everyone who loves plants and gardens. The Master Gardener Programs in Georgia receive no public finding, and some of the events are fund raisers in support of our educational outreach and volunteer efforts in every county across the state.
On the right side of this page is a list of events. For a calendar view that includes other events of interest, the GMGA calendar is here.
LOCAL CHAPTERS
Local chapters are the hearts and soul of the Georgia Master Garden program.. To learn more about what Master Gardeners are doing in your community, visit any local chapter’s web site. They’re listed here.
FEATURED CHAPTER
Every month or so we’ll focus on a specific chapter and show you how they assist their communities. The latest is Central Georgia and you can find that post here.
GRANTS
The GMGA’s purpose is to stimulate interest, increase knowledge and share their enthusiasm, interest and knowlegde. One of the ways we do that is by offering grants for specific projects in your community.
Grants will only be given to active Master Gardeners, so if you have an idea for your neighborhood, please contact your local MG chapter.
If you are an active MG, the latest (rev. August 28, 2011) Grant Application may be found here.
The projects which were awarded grants for the period July through November 2010 can be found here.
