In 2019, the Georgia Master Gardener Association (GMGA) established the Award of Excellence in Consumer Horticulture. This award is specifically for agents who provide leadership to MGEV programs to support consumer horticulture education for the public.
This year, GMGA would again like to recognize Extension Agents that work closely with the MGEV programs by offering a deserving agent the Award of Excellence. This year, GMGA has decided to include the Coordinators that train and work with the Master Gardener Program in the Extension Office. Applications will be accepted through September 1, 2024. A diverse panel, including GMGA Board members and UGA faculty and staff, will review and score the applications. The winner will be announced in October at the GMGA conference Oct 5 in Griffin and at the 2024 Georgia Association of County Agricultural Agents (GACAA) November 13-14 on Jekyll Island.
