Field Trip for Chattahoochee Riverkeeper

A large group of GMGA members enjoyed the educational tour on Lake Lanier on September 20 with Jason Ulreth, the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and Executive Director.  He explained to our group how Riverkeeper monitors the Chattahoochee River Basin and keeps Atlanta’s water clean.  Riverkeeper also does a phenomenal job of educating youth from all over Georgia on its daily field trips on Lake Lanier and West Point Lake.  It is one of the most successful nonprofits in Georgia.  Tammy Bates, GMGA VP of Education and Field Trips, is employed by Riverkeeper as their Outings Director.  Thank you Tammy and CRK staff for a wonderful experience for GMGA members on Lake Lanier’s “Floating Classroom” on September 20.
