GMGA hosted a field trip to historic Oakland Cemetery in downtown Atlanta on November 15th. Twenty master gardeners broke into two groups and each had their own private tour guide to learn about the trees, plants and famous local residents of Oakland. This almost two hour tour could only scratch the surface of all there is to learn about Oakland. We will plan another field trip next spring/summer to experience Oakland in a different season.
Counties represented in todays tour: Richmond, Cherokee, Cobb, Dekalb, Fannin, Gwinnett, Hall, Houston and Rabun. This is a good representation from the metro and north GA counties.
