2026 GRANTS

We have awarded $4,500 in grants for 2026 to a total of nine recipients! The criteria for awarding project grant money includes community value and involvement in horticulture to make a difference, educational value where the funding makes a significant contribution, displays realistic goals and objectives, as well as a maintenance schedule, documents the project for GMGA and the community that instructs and informs so that others may benefit from the work funded and, utilizes as many Master Gardeners as possible.

Troup County (Janet Reneau)

Horace King Bridge Native Pollinator Garden Award to enhance and support three intersecting community projects, which provide historical, educational and community venue for gatherings for locals and visitors in LaGrange, GA.


Houston County (Diane Stephens)

To build, promote, and maintain a seed library within the Houston County Library as well as build and maintain a raised bed as a demonstration garden.

Gwinnett County (Marilyn Whitmer)

To refurbish and maintain the existing 27 raised beds and replace soaker hoses, and purchase soil for the Peachtree Elementary Gardens.


Richmond County (Shawne Lloyd)

To restore and replant five raised garden beds in the Outdoor Art Garden at the Jessye Norman School of the Arts.

Fannin County (Christy Jellets)

Master Gardener Trainees will to build the Earthsong Garden-Community Demonstration Garden to provide hands-on learning, public education opportunities, and a showcase for sustainable North Georgia gardening practices.


Floyd County (D’Ann Downey)

Mrytle Hill Meditation Garden- To restore the garden in the historical cemetery to be used in the future as a place of peace and serenity for the community.

Cobb County (D’Ann Downey)

To fill the property in McFarlane Nature Park with native shade tolerant plants for multi-season interest as a display garden for the community as an example of what types of plants grow well in shade.


Clark County (Merry Anderson)

Clarke Middle School to Design and install a new vegetable garden and provide the crops to the Emergency Food Bank for distribution to those in need of fresh vegetables and fruit.

Helping 4th and 5th grade student to plant and grow blueberries at Myers Elementary in the hope of supplying the school cafeteria with blueberries for the in entire school.
