TIFTON: Longleaf Pine Community Wildflowers & Grasses

The longleaf pine ecosystem has more ground cover plant diversity than any other in the United States. In the first half of this class, we will be in the classroom talking about the drivers of such high diversity and learning to recognize some of the common plant families of the longleaf pine ecosystem. Then we will venture into the field for hands-on field activities and to learn how to identify some of the common fall-blooming species. Please note that this class is part of a new program and is located outside of the Athens area.
