Bethesda Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA. Do you sometimes find it hard to keep a garden going in the summer heat? Would you like to learn how to grow plants hydroponically in your own home? Guest speaker, Cristine Todd, will share how to grow a wide variety of plants hydroponically, including pineapples, tomatoes, peppers, wildflowers, strawberries, herbs and more. Cristine has been a passionate hobbyist gardener for the past nine years. Since 2019, she has focused specifically on hydroponic gardening—a method that has fascinated her due to its adaptability and efficiency. Her interest in hydroponics grew while living in Florida, Colorado, and Minnesota, where water restrictions and extreme weather often made traditional outdoor gardening challenging. These experiences inspired her to explore indoor growing environments, where she learned to replicate sunlight cycles and optimize plant nutrition to grow healthier, faster growing plants with minimal pesticide use. She has also created a YouTube channel to document her hydroponic journey. GCMGA meetings are free and open to the public. If you would like to join us for lunch, please come at 12:00 pm and bring a dish to share.
