MARIETTA: Honey Bees and Beekeeping

Entomologist, apiculturist, and former Extension Agent Mickey Anderson will instruct us in beekeeping and show different types of equipment used by the beekeeper as well as different hive components. He will also talk about pollination, different castes, brood (young bee) development, comb building, guard duty, and foraging trips of bees. Lastly, he will discuss the importance of the variations in seasonal activities of honey bees. Cobb County Water Lab Training Room, 662 South Cobb Drive, Marietta, GA 30060. (Located on the corner of South Cobb Drive and Atlanta Road). Lunch and Learn is an educational series presented and funded by the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cobb County, Inc. in conjunction with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service. All programs are free and open to the public.
